Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated white sugar
- 1 large (50g) egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp (3g) baking soda
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, stir together the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until the mixture looks like wet sand and is free of large lumps.
- Whisk in the egg and vanilla extract until the batter becomes smooth and glossy.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients using a spatula. Stir only until no streaks of white flour remain.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie and roll them into balls.
- Place the dough balls 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes. Remove the cookies from the oven the moment the edges are golden brown, even if the centers still look slightly soft.
