Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated white sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1 tsp (6g) salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the softened butter and both sugars vigorously by hand for about 2 minutes until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
- Stir in the eggs one at a time, then fold in the vanilla extract until the batter is smooth and glossy.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Using a spatula, gently fold the flour into the wet ingredients until no streaks of white flour remain.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined sheets, leaving 2 inches of space between them.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes, pulling them out when the edges are barely golden brown but the centers still look slightly soft.
