Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated white sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg (50g)
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp (3g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl. Beat on medium-high for about 2 minutes until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
- Stir in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix on low speed or by hand just until the white streaks of flour disappear.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes. Remove when edges are light golden brown but centers still look slightly soft. Let them firm up on the hot pan.
