Ingredients:
- ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- ¾ cup (150g) packed brown sugar
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- ½ tsp (3g) sea salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions:
- Whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until smooth and no lumps remain.
- Stir in the eggs one at a time, then fold in the vanilla extract until the mixture looks glossy and velvety.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Use a spatula to fold the ingredients together just until no streaks of flour remain.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9-11 minutes. Remove them the moment the edges turn a deep golden brown, even if the centers look soft.
- Let the cookies rest on the hot pan for 5 minutes to set.
