Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • ¾ cup (150g) packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
  • ½ tsp (3g) sea salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions:

  1. Whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until smooth and no lumps remain.
  2. Stir in the eggs one at a time, then fold in the vanilla extract until the mixture looks glossy and velvety.
  3. Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Use a spatula to fold the ingredients together just until no streaks of flour remain.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9-11 minutes. Remove them the moment the edges turn a deep golden brown, even if the centers look soft.
  8. Let the cookies rest on the hot pan for 5 minutes to set.
