Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (115g)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (125g)
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar (150g)
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (30g)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (125g)
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda (3g)
  • 1/4 tsp salt (1.5g)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (170g)

Instructions:

  1. Beat the softened butter, peanut butter, and brown sugar together on medium-high speed until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated and smooth.
  3. Sift the cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt into the wet ingredients. Stir on low speed or by hand until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  5. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove them when the edges are set but the centers still look slightly soft.
